Last December 10, 2012, the members of Philippine Normal University Library and Information Science Alumni Association (PNULISAA) Inc., gathered to celebrate the Association’s 12th General Assembly and to witness the oath-taking ceremony of its newly-elected officers and board of directors for the year 2013. The event was held at two o’ clock in the afternoon at Max’s Restaurant, M. Orosa St., U.N. Avenue, Manila.

 

The first part of the celebration began with an invocation. The event was hosted by the incoming treasurer, Ms. Donna Lyn Labangon.

 

Ms. Ana Maria B. Fresnido, outgoing president, presented the accomplishments of her administration which includes the seminar-workshops in Baler, Aurora and Boracay, regular board meetings, and outreach program held in University of Batangas. She thanked all the members, past officers of the association, and donors for their continued support which made the Association’s programs and activities successful.

 

Ms. Elizabeth Padilla, the outgoing treasurer, presented the Association’s financial report from December 2011 until November 2012.The second part of the celebration started with an Opening Remarks given by Dr. Maria Orendain. She encouraged members to have unity and to cooperate in all the Association’s activities.

 

Mr. Yugosto A. Balbas, Chair of the NOMELEC Committee, updated the members on the rules and guidelines for the election of officers. He introduced the nominees and announced the result of the election.

 

The new set of officers for the 2013 Executive Board took their oath as Ms. Celedonia Cayaban, Library Director of De La Salle University-College of Saint Benilde, lead the induction.

 

The Incoming President, Ms. Cynthia L. Cordova, delivered her acceptance speech in behalf of the Executive Board. After the Induction of Officers, the floor was opened for comments and suggestions from the members.

 

Ms. Cayaban suggested key points that the newly-elected board may undertake.

 

The program ended with a Closing Remarks delivered by Professor Ruben P. Marasigan.

 

A delectable and mouth-watering meal was shared by everyone as a fitting finale to the occasion.
